Description

Job Title: IT Network Administrator

• Network Configuration and Maintenance:
• Install, configure, and maintain network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) and software.
• Ensure network performance meets organizational standards and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
• Perform regular network monitoring and capacity planning to optimize performance and scalability.

• Implement and manage network security protocols to safeguard against unauthorized access and cyber threats.
• Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
• Apply updates and patches to network devices and systems to protect against known vulnerabilities.

• Provide technical support to users experiencing network connectivity issues.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems related to the network.
• Document and maintain records of network issues and resolutions for future reference.

• Design and implement network infrastructure upgrades and expansions to support business needs.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to improve network efficiency and reliability.
• Collaborate with other IT staff and departments to ensure network solutions align with organizational goals.

• Develop and maintain network backup and disaster recovery plans.
• Regularly test backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.

• Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting steps.
• Generate and present reports on network performance, incidents, and project status to management.

• Ensure network operations comply with organizational policies and industry standards.
• Stay updated on emerging trends and best practices in network administration and cybersecurity.

• Work closely with other IT professionals and departments to coordinate network-related projects and initiatives.
• Provide training and support to staff on network-related issues and best practices.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA) preferred.
• Proven experience with network administration, including troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols, security practices, and hardware.
