Description

 OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:

    Performs activities associated with the development, approval, implementation and maintenance of new and existing repair schemes to ensure proper repairs of products in line with company procedures.
    The Repair Engineer is ultimately responsible for ensuring that the required systems are developed in accordance with the company's qualification methods and international standards, and that the operators and equipment are operating in a controlled fashion on a day to day basis.

SPECIFIC TASKS:

• Creation of Repair / Product specific work instruction documentation and application of repair control techniques
• Repair parameter development for both Welding and Brazing and laboratory evaluation and subsequent interpretation leading to programme and parameter adjustments.
• The ability to manage and achieve a First Article Inspection (FAI) qualification through a dedicated approved procedure.
• Initiates improvements toward product and repair related efficiencies.
• Training of Welders and quality control teams.
• Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.

 COMPETENCIES:

    A Mechanical or Material Engineering Degree with a minimum 10 of years' experience in development of gas turbine repairs
    The ability to read and apply drawings and specifications and to summarize in technical writing.
    5 year experience in developing welding repairs for nickel based alloys.
    Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint, Outlook)
    Working knowledge of computer aided drafting software;
    Working knowledge of precision measuring instruments.
    Experience in the Gas Turbine repair business is essential
    Laboratory experience would be an advantage but not essential
    Strong planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, interpersonal, decision making, oral and written communication skills.
    Ability to work in a team.  
    Fluent in spoken & written English.
    A customer-oriented attitude and sense of accountability and responsibility.
