Description

The Procurement Manager leads a team of purchasers that is responsible for safeguarding the company interests when entering into contracts for the procurement of goods and services. You will help to ensure that appropriate and adequate controls exist throughout the procurement process, confidentiality is assured, information not misused, applicable legislation is complied with, business ethics are transparent, risks are managed appropriately, and the business objectives of the company are delivered.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

• Design, implement and operate a procurement management operating model which allows for changing strategic and operational needs 
• Devise and use fruitful sourcing strategies
• Discover profitable suppliers and initiate business and organization partnerships
• Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms
• Approve the ordering of necessary goods and services
• Finalize purchase details of orders and deliveries
• Examine and test existing contracts
• Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clients
• Expect unfavorable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies
• Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements
• Spend Analysis
• Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs
• Manage the cost and availability of products and services as well as fluctuating prices and scarcity of materials
• Explore new emerging markets, identify alternative sources of supply or find substitute products and services.
• Develop a cross functional team that operates both between organizational departments as well as with suppliers.
• Reduce legal, financial and operational risk to the organization
• Meet regulatory and internal control standards for all 3rd party working relationships
• Mitigate risk and ensure value delivery and cost competitiveness of suppliers by effective contract, supplier, and risk management
