Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Chief Accountant to oversee our financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of financial reporting standards, particularly IFRS 15, and extensive experience in managing various accounting functions, including VAT compliance, import/export documentation, letter of credits, and bank facilities. This role requires strong leadership skills to manage a team of subordinates effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead the financial reporting process, ensuring compliance with IFRS 15 and accurate revenue recognition using the percentage of completion method.

* Oversee all aspects of UAE VAT compliance and reporting.

* Manage import and export documentations, including customs clearance and trade regulations.

* Handle letter of credits and bank facilities, including managing credit lines and negotiating terms.

* Lead month-end closing activities, including reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and ensuring timely reporting.

* Supervise cost center accounting and allocations to optimize cost management.

* Utilize job costing knowledge to track project expenses and profitability accurately.

* Monitor project cash flow and provide insights to support decision-making.

* Liaise with auditors and facilitate audit processes to ensure compliance and transparency.

* Previous experience in contracting or fabrication industries is a plus.

Qualifications and Skills:

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent qualification preferred.

* Minimum of [X] years of experience in a senior accounting role, with a focus on financial reporting and compliance.

* Extensive knowledge of IFRS 15, UAE VAT regulations, and import/export procedures.

* Proficiency in managing letter of credits, bank facilities, and credit lines.

* Strong experience in month-end closing activities and financial statement preparation.

* Excellent understanding of cost center accounting, cost allocations, and job costing methodologies.

* Leadership experience, including managing a team of subordinates.

* Advanced analytical skills with attention to detail.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.

* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
