Job Description

Assess employee patients to identify appropriate nursing interventions (e.g. first aid, blood pressure monitoring, etc.)

Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician or according to established policies and protocols (e.g. immunization / allergy shots, etc.)

Monitor, assess, address, document and report symptoms and changes in patients' conditions

Collect blood or other medical samples from patients

Log patient samples and prepare them for testing

Set up medical laboratory equipment

Operate, monitor and maintain medical apparatus and equipment within the Health Centre where the nurse is located

Assist in medical procedures (e.g. annual physicals)

Communicate non-critical results of medical tests to patients

Coordinate company-wide programs, seminars and communications (e.g. Intranet site, wellness programs, flu shot clinic, etc.)

Participate in relevant company-wide committees including Health, Safety and Wellness and Pandemic Flu Planning committees

Perform additional tasks as required

Job Requirements

Female or Male with DOH License

Extensive experience in assessment of patients in emergency situations

Strong communication (written and verbal).

Excellent nursing assessment and time management skills.

Must possess a strong focus on delivering quality customer service.

Basic computer knowledge

Must possess the physical ability to perform the day-to-day duties described in the duties and responsibilities.

Ability to work independently and without immediate support.
